Middle East Tour and Dig 2011

The 2011 Middle East tour will be departing Australia on Tuesday, 19 April 2011. We have an optional 2 day pre-tour of Alexandria and the Faiyyum Oasis planned and the our usual optional archaeological dig in Israel at the conclusion of the tour. Our group international flights will be flying Singapore Airlines to Cairo via Singapore. The tour will be escorted by Archaeological Diggings Managing Editor Michael Browning who has been running tours with David Down since 2007. Michael has been study the revised chronology with David for the past 3 and a half years and is also studying an MA in Egyptology at Macquarie University in Sydney.

Included in the price is your return international airfares from Australia, internal flights as per the itinerary, accommodation, breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day, all transportation and transfers as per the itinerary, all site entries, visas as required, tips and portage. The only extra costs are your lunch each day, any drinks, travel insurance and personal expenses. Join us for 23 thrilling days visiting some of the worlds most amazing and ancient sites.

International travelers are welcome to join our tour in Cairo for the land cost only. You will need to arrange your own airfares to arrive in Cairo prior to Tuesday 19 April 2011 and then departure flights from Tel Aviv on Tuesday 10 May 2011.     Archaeological Dig

    Dig 2007 - Mareshah, Israel
    • Work each day on our own site at Mareshah in Israel
    • Each afternoon tour the many cave systems and sites located in the area
    • Full day touring to sights including the Sorek cave, valley of Elah (where David fought Goliath) and Ashqelon.
    • The price of the dig includes accommodation, 3 meals a day, dig fee's and any entry fee's required
    • Experience the thrill of finding artifacts that have been buried for 2200 years
