EGYPT AND JORDAN 2010
We are touring Egypt and Jordan again!
The Archaeological Diggings 15 day tour of Egypt departs Australia 14 September 2010. The Egypt tour will again be followed by an optional 7 day tour of Jordan. This is going to be another fantastic tour escorted by Archaeological Diggings editor Michael Browning and our local networks in Egypt and Jordan. Michael has been working and travelling with David Down for a number of years and studying Egyptology at Macquarie University in Sydney. Let him show you the most famous sites in Egypt and Jordan, plus some of the places most tourists do not visit. He will do the hard work so you can sit back and enjoy the wonders of these ancient countries.
Archaeological Diggings tours are not your typical program. We focus on the archaeology and history of Egypt and Jordan. In Egypt we will be exploring the typical tourist sites, such as the pyramids at Giza and Valley of the Kings, but also some of the not-so-typical sites such as the 12th dynasty pyramids in the Faiyyum Oasis, the Dahshur pyramids, Medium, the scribes quarry at Sehel Island and Deir el Medina. You will have the opportunity to explore inside some pyramids, enter a 4000 year old mastaba through a tomb robbers tunnel, explore ancient temples and ride a Felucca on the Nile.
Our tours include all accommodation (twin-share) for the itinerary, breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day, all domestic flights as required by the itinerary, all transportation and site entries, tips, portage and the cost of local guides as required. We always include a few extra sites when there is time and we even cover the cost of those extra sites. No surprise 'optional tour' costs. The only extras are international flights, travel insurance, lunch each day and of course your personal expenses. You can also choose to take our group flight flying economy class with Singapore Airlines. Download the brochure for full details.
You can read our 2009 Egypt and Jordan tour report in the February/March 2010 issue of Archaeological Diggings. That particular issue is currently available as a free download. Look for the free sample issue on our downloads page. Select the downloads page from the menu at the top of your page, look for the sample issues and click the link for the February/March 2010 issue and then go to page 55 to read the report from last years program. Can you picture yourself in our report on the 2010 tour?
This is your chance to see Egypt and Jordan in a small group.
The brochure with itinerary and pricing is available for download via the links at the bottom of this page. Our price includes everything except your lunches each day, travel insurance and personal expenses. Please note, the Egypt itinerary price includes your domestic airfares required for the itinerary.
