Archaeological Digs

Each year, Archaeological Diggings runs an Archaeological Dig in Israel. The last few years we have been diggings at Mareshah, located in the Beit Govrin National Park. Our groups always find many exciting things, including a gold earring found by one of our 2009 group members. No experience is necessary and discovering archaeological artifacts that have been hidden for over 2000 years is something that you will never forget.

The price of the dig includes accommodation at a Kibbutz, 3 meals each day at the Kibbutz, dig fee's, site entries where applicable, transportation to and from the dig site each day and transfers with the group to the airport at the conclusion of the dig. The only extra expenses will be any drinks, personal expenses and your lunch on the last day in Jerusalem. The dig price does NOT including the cost of international airfares as it is an option at the end of our Middle East tour. You are welcome to join us for the dig only but you will need to arrange for your own airfares to meet us in Jerusalem. Next Dig - 2 May to 10 May 2010

Our group will depart from Jerusalem on Sunday morning, 2 May 2010 and go to Beit Govrin to commence the dig. At the end of the day we check in to the Kibbutz where we will stay until Friday 7 May 2010. As always we will have a full day of touring during the dig. The sites we visit on that day have not yet been decided but may include the Sorek Cave near Bet Shemesh, Valley of Elah (where David fought Goliath) and Ashqelon. At the end of the dig on Friday we return to Jerusalem and stay there for Friday night and Saturday night with a departure for Australia via Istanbul. Saturday will be a free day in Jerusalem. You can either return home to Australia or stay on for 10 days touring with us in Turkey. See our Turkey tour page for information on this tour.

From Istanbul, connect with Singapore airlines for the flights back to Australia
